Yes, he’s been spoiled by his grandma’s amazing pies and pie-heating methods….and I can’t really blame him! They really are amazing. She makes *everything* from scratch, even the crust! And really, they’re just…wow.

I bet you have to watch out for Grandma if you trick around with her pies! You don’t really own them you know

It was a pie bought at the local farm, but still, I’m sure Grandma would be pretty appalled by my pie-heating practices
Despite being of the youngest generation, I’m my family’s pie-making queen…I get so mad when my boyfriend uses the microwave to heat his slice! I find that the toaster oven works great, as does a heat gun if you have one (why do we have a heat gun? I have no idea).
Making crusts is super easy though–especially if you have a stand mixer. I feel obligated to share my infallible crust recipe, so here: http://edanacooks.blogspot.com/2010/06/one-crust-to-rule-them-all.html . He will never scoff at your pie-habits again.
Ooo thanks for sharing! I couldn’t tell you how Alex’s grandma makes the crust, since I don’t know the first think about making pies =/
And yeah, I ended up using our toaster oven to heat up the slice of pie =P
I think Alex putting himself on the same level as grandma is a little much. Next time, you can put the pie in his face.
Love you, Alex
